The short version

Perkmark does not connect to financial institutions, retrieve transactions, request full payment-card numbers, run advertising, or sell personal information. Perkmark Free syncs the tracker through your private iCloud account. Perkmark Plus stores the household tracker with Amazon Web Services so only accepted household members can collaborate.

01

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Perkmark iPhone app, Perkmark Cloud and its API, the website at perkmark.app, product-update emails, and support or feedback you send to Perkmark. Perkmark is a trade name used by Ben Burgess. In this policy, “Perkmark,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Ben Burgess, doing business as Perkmark, the developer and operator of those services.

The app supports Sign in with Apple, private iCloud synchronization for Free users, and optional shared Plus households through Perkmark Cloud. It does not support bank connections or transaction-history syncing.

02

Information in the app

Information you enter

You may choose to enter a display name and profile photo; a household name; card nicknames, issuer and product names, and the last four digits of a card; primary-cardholder and authorized-user relationships; annual fees and renewal months; benefit names, descriptions, terms, categories, values, cadences, reset dates; and benefit usage records. Perkmark uses this information to build the tracker you see in the app.

Where app data is stored

Perkmark keeps a cached copy on your device for app operation and offline use. Perkmark Free stores the tracker as a record in the private CloudKit database associated with your iCloud account so it can sync across Apple devices signed in to that Apple Account. Apple operates CloudKit under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Perkmark does not receive a server-side copy of a Free user’s private CloudKit record.

If you create or join a Plus household, the household profile, cards, benefits, custom categories, usage, member display names and profile photos, roles, and invitations are transmitted to and stored in Perkmark’s access-controlled AWS systems. Accepted household members can see the shared household profile and tracker; they can update shared product data while Plus access is active. Household owners can also manage invitations, members, and roles.

Account, purchase, and technical information

When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple provides a stable account identifier and may provide your name and email address if you choose to share them. Perkmark exchanges Apple’s sign-in token for an AWS identity used to authenticate Perkmark Cloud requests. The app stores the resulting session credentials and Apple account identifier in the iOS Keychain on that device.

For Perkmark Plus, Apple and StoreKit provide the product identifier, purchase and original-transaction identifiers, signed transaction data, subscription status, renewal and expiration information, and trial eligibility needed to complete a purchase, restore it, prevent duplicate household subscriptions, and control Plus access. Perkmark does not receive the payment-card number or other payment credentials used by your Apple Account.

Photos, feedback, and diagnostics you choose to send

If you select a profile photo, the app creates a resized avatar. It is stored with the rest of your tracker and, in a Plus household, is visible to accepted household members. The app does not scan or upload the rest of your photo library.

If you send feedback, you choose the subject and message and may attach a screenshot. You may also include app version, build number, iOS version, device model, selected storage mode, and sync status. The diagnostics option does not add your cards, benefits, name, or account identifiers. The app prepares an email or share sheet for your review; your chosen mail or sharing provider processes what you send.

Information we do not request

Perkmark does not ask for or store bank usernames or passwords, financial-account credentials, full payment-card numbers, card security codes, transaction histories, credit reports, precise location, address-book contacts, health information, or government identification numbers. Please do not enter those items in free-form fields, screenshots, or support messages.

Device backups. Your operating system or a backup service you enable may include Perkmark’s local data in a device backup. Those backups are controlled by you and the relevant platform provider under their terms and privacy policy.
03

Website and contact data

Basic hosting records

When you visit the website, the hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested pages, timestamps, and security-related logs. Perkmark does not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party advertising or analytics tools.

Email updates and support

If you sign up for product updates, we collect the email address you submit, the date and time of your signup, the source of the signup, and the version of the consent notice you accepted. This information is stored with Amazon Web Services in the United States in a Perkmark signup record and an Amazon Simple Email Service contact list.

If you email hello@perkmark.app or send feedback from the app, we receive your email address, message contents, and any screenshot or diagnostics you chose to include. We use them to respond and provide support.

04

How information is used

App information is used to provide the features you choose, including organizing cards and benefits, calculating tracked value, displaying reset dates, syncing Free data through iCloud, sharing Plus household data with accepted members, authenticating requests, managing invitations and roles, preventing misuse, resolving sync conflicts, and confirming access to paid features.

Product-update signup information is used to maintain the mailing list and send the launch news and occasional product updates you requested. Information you send by email is used to answer your message, provide requested support or updates, maintain the safety and reliability of Perkmark, and comply with applicable law. We do not use app or contact information for behavioral advertising.

05

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information or share it for behavioral advertising. We do not share app data with card issuers, banks, data brokers, or advertisers. Household data is visible to the people invited into that Household.

Apple processes Sign in with Apple, private iCloud storage, App Store purchases, subscription status, and related device services. Amazon Web Services processes Plus household, account-authentication, website, signup, mailing-list, and service-log information on our behalf to authenticate users, store and sync shared records, host the site and API, deliver invitations or product messages when enabled, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Those providers are expected to handle information consistently with their contractual obligations and applicable law.

Your selected mail or sharing provider processes feedback you choose to send. We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or misuse, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets where permitted by law. If control of personal information changes in such a transaction, this policy or an updated policy will continue to apply.

06

Retention and deletion

Local app data remains until you edit or delete it, delete your account in the app, remove the app, or erase the relevant device data, subject to backups you control. Free-plan iCloud data remains in your private CloudKit database until it is replaced or deleted. The in-app account-deletion flow deletes the Perkmark CloudKit record and the app’s local data and backup copy.

Plus household data is retained while the household exists. Invitations expire after seven days and are then eligible for automated removal. Removing or deleting a non-billing member’s account removes that profile and household access; shared cards, benefits, and usage previously contributed to the household remain with the household. Deleting the subscription owner’s account permanently deletes the shared household records and removes access for all members. Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription; the subscription owner must cancel it in Apple’s subscription settings.

Limited copies may remain temporarily in encrypted service backups, recovery history, security logs, or records that must be kept for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or legal compliance. Those copies are isolated from ordinary product use and are removed or de-identified through the applicable retention cycle.

Product-update signup information is kept until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete it, or we no longer need the list for the purposes described above. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain requested communications, resolve disputes, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. We may retain a minimal suppression record when needed to honor an opt-out or where required by law.

You may ask us to delete contact information we control by emailing hello@perkmark.app.

07

Security

Perkmark minimizes the information it handles and uses Apple and AWS security controls for authentication, HTTPS transport, access-controlled cloud storage, and provider-managed encryption at rest. Plus household requests use temporary AWS credentials and are checked against household membership and role. Session credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device and Apple Account security, including a passcode and current operating-system updates. No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

08

Your choices and rights

You can view, correct, or delete tracker entries in the app and can leave or manage household access according to your role. The app also provides a permanent account-deletion control in Profile and Settings. A non-billing member’s deletion removes that member and access; the subscription owner’s deletion deletes the entire Plus household. You can also ask us to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we control by emailing us. We may need to verify the request and may retain limited information where law permits or requires it.

You can stop product-update emails by using the unsubscribe option included in those messages or by emailing hello@perkmark.app. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete your signup information.

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning personal information we control, such as rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of it, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us. We may need to verify your request, and applicable law may provide exceptions. Perkmark does not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.

Perkmark does not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not process browser-based opt-out signals for activities it does not perform.

09

Children’s privacy

Perkmark is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

10

Changes and contact

We may revise this policy as Perkmark evolves. The updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. If a change materially affects how personal information is handled, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.

The data controller and service operator is Ben Burgess, doing business as Perkmark. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@perkmark.app.
